Welcome to Mimi's Lefthook Crochet.
A CHANGE OF PACE:I am your host, Dr. ReGina Pino (Gina). No, I am not a medical doctor or a Ph.D. I am a Doctor of Education, an EdD. So why am I blogging about Crocheting? I am far closer to retirement than the beginning my teaching career. I was looking for a change of pace and an outlet to my creative side. I believe I found it when I remembered the joy of learning how to crochet with my Grandmother. Many of you might remember the miles of chain stitches you made before moving on to grasp actual stitches. Also, my “hook” was that I am left handed so I needed a bit of help to get started. My Mother, who was ambidextrous, added the extra visual help that I needed. So I dug out all my old hooks, searched the web for new ideas, stitches, tutorials, settled into my big gray chair, and started to brush up on my old skills and learn new ones. I could not be happier with the results.
Mimi’s Chair:
This is what my family now refer to when looking for me and where you will often find me with a crochet hook in hand and some project in progress. The purpose of this blog is threefold. First, I wanted a platform to simply be able to talk about something that I love to do and second, to share what I am learning with others. The third purpose and perhaps the most important is that I hope to learn from others that are far more experienced and talented than I am. As I post pictures and talk about what I am doing I hope you will share tips, comments, and what you are doing with me.
